I truly hate being called a Consultant. There is something about that word that I feel does an injustice to the work I do. To me, a Consultant is a guy who got laid off and hung out his shingle. Yes, I do consult but it is such a small part of what I do that I shun the description.
Print Tec Network was started in 1992 or 3, I can never remember. It was the second company I had started and seemed like a natural outgrowth of the work I had done at the first one (where, amongst other things, I sold digital printing).
My dad was the one who gave me my odd sense of humor. At 81, he still tells a great joke. When I told my Dad what I was going to do with Print Tec, he made some inquiries but I knew he really didn't understand (still doesn't). Soon after that conversation, my dad sent me a one liner from Reader's Digest that read:
"A Consultant is a man who knows 49 ways to make love but doesn't any women."
Thanks, Dad.
